Meet Ashlyn (she/her/hers)
Hi! Thank you for checking out my site!
I graduated from Winthrop University's Master's of Education in Counseling and Development program with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-A, #7476) in the state of South Carolina. I have completed Gottman Couples Therapy Level I Training: Bridging the Couple Chasm.
As a counselor, I am passionate about the importance of acknowledging and validating the unique circumstances and experiences of each individual. My goal as the counselor is to assist you in your journey of self discovery, self-acceptance, and self-growth.
I prefer to use research-supported techniques from the following styles of therapy: Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, and Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy. I tailor therapy to each individual, as everyone is different, and I frequently check in and assess the effectiveness of my methods.
As a graduate student, I facilitated an LGBTQ+ support group for college-aged students at Winthrop University. I am passionate about providing counseling services for LGBTQ+ individuals because I, myself, identify with the LGBTQ+ community.
Further, I have experience working with individuals who struggle with the following issues: depression, anxiety, self-injury, LGBTQ+ sexuality and gender identity development, career development, relationship issues, grief, perfectionism, etc.
If you are interested, feel free to either call or email me! I would be happy to provide free phone consultation or to answer any questions through email. We can also set up an initial session through either phone or email. Email me at . :)
